Coast & Valleys Vet

Dr Keith C Phillips

Keith has been a Central Coast local since 1988, has been in Equine & mixed practice since graduating from University of Sydney in 1986. He has postgraduate training in both Animal Chiropractic and Acupuncture and has a special interest in managing Arthritis. In his spare time over the years Keith has enjoyed his Polocrosse.

Senior Veterinarian/Practice Manager

Joslyn Phillips

Joslyn is the second partner with Keith in the practice and is our manager. Sometimes she will be the smiling face at front desk, other times working behind the scenes to keep reminders and drug deliveries on time. If you have anything you need to discuss about the practice, Jos is the lady to talk to.

Practice Manager

Dr Brianna Smits

Dr Smits joined the Coast and Valleys team in December 2016 after recently graduating from Sydney University. She enjoys livestock calls and emergency medicine, and in her time off can be found exploring the coast at the beach. She has a cat called Roger.

Veterinarian

Dr Zoe Blum

Dr. Blum joined the practice in January 2018. She originally moved from the United States to work with koalas and never left! She enjoys large animal calls and has a special interest in small animal surgery. She has a kelpie named Archie but still tries to steal every pet that comes in.

Veterinarian

Dr Alicia Van Arkel

Alicia joined the team in January after completing a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sydney. She has a love of all animals large and small and has a keen interest in small animal surgery and livestock practice, with publications in canine virology and welfare. In her free time Alicia is making the most of the coastal change and her love for the outdoors. You can find her at the beach, paddling on the lake or hiking a mountain - that’s assuming she isn’t busy with her two scruffy and snuggly rescue dogs Polly and Butch.

Veterinarian

Dr Kylie Wong

Kylie joined our team in December 2019 after graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Class 1 Honours) from the University of Queensland. She was also awarded the Equine Veterinarians Australia Prize for Equine Medicine and Surgery in her year. Kylie grew up in Brisbane, but spent many years in Sydney before moving back to Queensland for vet school. She loves all furry animals, both large and small, and has a big fur-family of her own with three dogs, two horses and a cat. Kylie has a special interest in equine and canine rehabilitation which has led her to gain additional certifications in both animal chiropractic and acupuncture. In her spare time you will find her exploring the beautiful beaches and forests along the coast with her dogs, or hitting the slopes somewhere cold with her husband.

Veterinarian

Jess McCarthy

Jess joined the Coast and Valleys team in January 2015 and holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing as well as a Bachelor of Livestock Science. She is currently completing a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. One of her favourite parts of the job is livestock anaesthesia and surgery. In her spare time she loves playing with her kelpie Jazz, trail riding and competes regularly at team penning with her horses Smoochie and Snoopy.

Senior Veterinary Nurse

Jade Figgis

Jade joined the team in October 2016, and is a Cert IV qualified vet nurse and has a Bachelor degree in Equine Science. Jade's menagerie includes Indi her semi-retired thoroughbred, Kiara the labrador, Elsa the naughty deaf dog and a multitude of cockatiels and chickens. Jade runs the puppy preschool here at the clinic and on the weekends enjoys competing in DockDogs with Kiara.

Senior Veterinary Nurse

Rhia Phillips

Rhia has been with us from the start, as you'd expect with a family business. After years as a Vet nurse for us she decided to take herself off to Vet School. She's just commenced her second year of Veterinary studies at CSU Wagga Wagga, so she's not here as often as she used to. She still helps out with our social media & special projects from there, and you'll catch up with her back here working her holidays. She's enjoying life in Wagga with her 2 Cavaliers Hamish & Bella, and her crazy cat Pusnicketty.

Veterinary Nurse

Kylie Horrell

Kylie has been with us since the old practice, and helped us make the big move to the new practice in 2017. She's been a less permanent presence the last couple of years as she and Jake have started their family, first with Beau, and now Levi. We look forward to her smiling face returning in 2020.

Veterinary Nurse

Danielle Morrison

Danielle is the friendly face that greets you upon entering our clinic, followed closely by her little white shadow, Poppy. Danielle joined the team mid 2015 and has become a vital part in making you and your pet feel welcome at our practice.

Receptionist

Jemma Brash

Jemma joined us in August 2017, she aims to begin her studies in Veterinary Science at The University of Sydney in the near future. Jemma's Cavoodle Ruby accompanies her to work everyday and helps by snoring the day away. Jemma enjoys going to the gym in her spare time
